This year Gard & Co, have chosen Friends & Families of Special Children as their charity of the year.

Based in Plymouth for almost 200 years, Gard & Co are proud to support Plymouth based charities each and every year. Gard & Co are delighted this year to be supporting Friends and Families of Special Children, who provide vital and high-quality support to parents with disabled children and children who have to take on a caring role for a member of their family at such a young age.

This year Gard & Co have formed a Charity Committee, made up of 8 dedicated people, who are excited to raise as much money as possible for such an amazing cause. Based a stone’s throw away from Friends and Families at Bretonside, in the city centre, Gard & Co were drawn to their projects of the Lending Library, which provides essential access to specialist equipment and practical resources, together with the Making Sense project, a project which provides support, advice and training for the parents of children with multiple and profound learning difficulties.

Gard & Co have met some of the amazing families who are supported by the Charity and are planning to meet more to learn how Friends & Families of Special Children has made  a difference to their lives.

Throughout the year Gard & Co will be holding a variety of fundraising events.  So far we have waxed the hair from the Partners’ legs, run around an inflatable obstacle course,  guessed the baby’s weight, organised an event based around the World Cup and more.  We even threw a Partner from a plane!
