Gard & Co. Solicitors sponsors Lifetime Achievement Award

Dec 2, 2009

The Pride of Plymouth awards were presented at a Gala evening hosted by Heart FM on the 20th November.  Gard & Co. Solicitors were very pleased to again sponsor the Lifetime Achievement category which this year was awarded to Jon Paul Oxley.

The Lifetime Achievement award celebrates a local person who has been dedicated over a long period of time to an unselfish cause, to helping other people or the community.
Jon was nominated by his family, who said,

“Our son has fought chronic cystic fibrosis since he was born. We were told he would not make it to 3 but he has just had his 18th birthday.  He plays for the Plymouth Argyle disabled football team, he is always raising funds for his favourite charities C/F and Post Pals. He is always willing to help others and he is now a level 7 football referee”.

Tony Foss, partner and head of the family department at Gard & Co. said, “It is an honour to be able to support an award that recognises the enormous contribution that Jon has made to his local community and to acknowledge the hard work, effort and time he has committed to raising money for charity.  He is an inspiration to us all.”

Gard & Co are committed to supporting the local community and are also organising charity events, in aid of St. Lukes Hospice this year including a charity rugby tournament on 28th March 2010.
