Plymouth Solicitor completes local charity cycle challenge

May 31, 2011

This May, Gard & Co.’s IT Project Manager, Roy Wood, cycled all about the South West peninsula raising awareness for Jeremiah’s Journey.

Jeremiah’s Journey is a Plymouth based charity dedicated to supporting children who have lost a close family member.  Their main service is to provide therapeutic group programmes to help bereaved children and their families cope with their loss.

Roy helped in raising approximately £1,000 for the charity by cycling nearly 400 miles in 35 hours.  His route took him from Exeter to Bideford to Looe to Penzance to Newquay, back to Bideford then on to Yeovil, Seaton and finally back to Exeter.  Having set off at 6:00 am on Saturday 28th May, Roy cycled through the night and on until 5:00 pm on Sunday 29th to complete the ride in the allotted time.

He then slept for 14 hours.
