After graduating from Plymouth University with a degree in History in 2009, Catherine became interested in pursuing a career in law. This, in some part, was a result of studying modules covering law and order throughout the ages.
She went on to complete the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course, also at Plymouth University, finishing her academic legal studies in 2012.
Catherine joined Gard & Co in September 2012. During her training she gained experience in the Residential Conveyancing, Wills & Probate, and Family Departments. She became an Assistant Solicitor in the Family Department upon her qualification in February 2016.
Catherine is most passionate about family law and has a particular interest in divorce and financial matters. She has a sympathetic and understanding manner with clients who are going through difficult stages in their lives, but remains professional and always strives to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.
When not at work Catherine enjoys catching up with friends, cooking, watching sports and horse riding. She particularly enjoys walking her dog in the Cornish countryside where she grew up. Completing the 10k Royal Marine Commando Challenge, along with some of her colleagues, remains one of her proudest achievements.
