A vacancy has become available for an ambitious assistant solicitor to help the Firm achieve the goals of the company and commercial department (CCD).
We are seeking a solicitor with a minimum of 2 years PQE in this specialism, who is looking for a career with prospects. The recruit should have a good property background with some experience in business transfer work (asset sales and purchase and share sales and purchases) from a strong and reputable firm. Ideally they will also have had a good training in at least one other substantial area of commercial legal work, perhaps employment/IP/IT/insolvency.

We are currently recruiting for a residential conveyancer for 12 month maternity cover to start January/February 2021.
The applicant will take on a full, active residential conveyancing caseload. This will include but is not restricted to: freehold and leasehold sales and purchases; transfer of equity; help to buy; plot sales and shared ownership matters.
We are looking for candidates with a strong residential conveyancing background who has handled all aspects of a caseload. Experience of working with a variety of case management systems and medium sized firms is beneficial.

Every two to three years Gard & Co seek to employ a graduate as an assistant legal cashier, to provide data entry and accounts support to the Senior Cashier in the firm with a view to moving into a legal assistant position after two years, and we seek to do this again in September 2020.

Financial support is available, for those who merit it, through post graduate examinations (ILEX/GDL/LPC) and a training contract (if appropriate), to legal professional qualification, subject to performance and suitable demonstration of quietly industrious commitment, over a 24 month period.
The successful candidate will have a good academic record, a rounded skill set and plenty of real-life experiences of the workplace.

This vacancy is aimed at graduates with non-law degrees who wish to pursue a career in the law and to undertake a law conversion course to that end. Candidates must have a passion for the law and be able to demonstrate a settled intention of pursuing a career as a solicitor and the determination and capacity to undertake distance learning whilst, at the same time, maintaining and developing a full time job.
