Resolution’s Good Divorce Week – The Year of the Code

Good Divorce Week is taking place during the week beginning 10th November 2025 and is an annual campaign organised by Resolution. The theme for Resolution’s Good Divorce Week 2025 is ‘the Year of the Code’.
Resolution is a community of family law professionals who subscribe to a Code of Practice to minimise conflict, support and encourage families to put the best interests of any children first, and encourage alternative dispute resolution methods.
Our Commitment at Gard & Co.

Why It Matters
Separation is often emotionally and financially challenging and by subscribing to Resolution’s Code of Practice, we aim to help our client’s navigate this difficult time with less conflict, more dignity and better outcomes for all involved.
Recent statistics show that over 1,000 new cases start in the family courts each working day. This has caused reduced resources and severe delays resulting in families waiting far too long for a resolution. As Resolution members, we do not believe it has to be this way.
For some families, litigation may well be the only way to resolve their dispute, and we are here to assist with that. However, it is our view that many families find themselves in acrimonious court proceedings that could have been avoided. We seek to resolve disputes outside of court where possible, helping you to have more control over the process and enabling you to reach a resolution more quickly than would be the case through the courts.
